The weather in Tunisia and Turkey is very similar. Both easily reach highs of 35 degrees C during the summer season, and so to find out which resort is right for you, you definitely need to delve deeper.

Tunisia
First and foremost, if you are hoping to take a Tunisia holiday and like to hit bars and clubs until the early hours of the morning, it is definitely worth reconsidering your destination. Tunisia’s nightlife is mostly restricted to the hotel complexes, although some do have excellent bar facilities.

Holidaymakers who are simply satisfied sunning themselves on sandy shores from sun up to sun down, will feel right at home in Tunisia. The beaches are beautiful and many of the hotels have direct access to the sea.

A Tunisia holiday is about kicking back and relaxing, spending time with loved ones and making the most of your luxurious all inclusive hotel complex.

Turkey
Holidays with a little more activity are available in Turkey. Depending on the resort you choose to stay in, the country is filled with excellent beaches, historical spots, perfect Pazars, and a selection of family friendly attractions.

Finding great ski deals

April 3, 2012 in photography, travel

Quite what you think constitutes a great ski deal will depend on precisely what kind of holiday you have in mind for yourself this year and what elements of a snowy escape you appreciate the most. If your priority is simply being there and you’re looking to make the most of any après-ski you can find then a low-cost self-catering apartment could be the way to go.

However, if you’re travelling as part of a good-sized group then you should perhaps consider the option of renting out an entire chalet. Your other main option is to book into a hotel, which could increase the cost of your stay but should give you every opportunity to relax and unwind in a luxurious and elegantly turned out environment.

There is no right or wrong way to go about finding the very best ski deals, with all tastes catered to these days and every effort made to ensure that visitors to top European and American resorts have a holiday to remember whatever package they book. But there is one common denominator, which is that using the internet is the most reliable way to find worthwhile bargains on high quality skiing holidays.

One way to make good use of your budget when it comes to ski or snowboarding holidays is to share the cost of renting out a catered chalet with your friends or family. The home-from-home atmosphere and great food you’ll be able to enjoy every evening helps give you just the right circumstances for a thoroughly enjoyable stay in the snow. There are chalets available in season for groups of between 8 and 24 people and you’re sure to find the perfect spot in the right resort if you’re able to do even some basic research online.

And the same goes for individuals planning to set off for the slopes by themselves. There are a growing number of single snowboarding holidays on offer at discount prices and dozens to choose from right now.

Best Value for Money on Egypt Holidays

March 30, 2012 in Food & Travel Blogs, travel

Egypt is full of wonderful holiday experiences just waiting to be uncovered. Whether you cruise the Nile, soak up the frenetic bustle and pace of life in Cairo, or opt for the relaxing beaches and scuba diving territory of Sharm el Sheikh, this diverse destination is bound to tick all the right boxes and leave you yearning for more.

But with the cost of living on the rise, how do you ensure that you’re getting good value for money on Egypt holidays?

There are several things to consider. Firstly, look at what you’ll be doing when you get there and where you plan to spend mealtimes. For cheap holidays to Sharm El Sheikh, all inclusive is usually a viable option which can save a significant amount on eating out in the resort – as well as providing drinks and snacks too. In some cases the hotel will also provide free or discounted access to local activities or excursions, which naturally helps to keep the costs down.
Most Egypt package holidays come with the support of a tour operator which means you can make the most of their local representative by asking for advice on day trips, local beauty spots and so on.

You should book early where possible to take advantage of early bird deals, which can often be found with the launch of a new season or brochure, but also to enable you to spread the cost of the holiday. This will also give you the best and widest choice of hotel rooms and local resort, which ultimately lets you pick the right destination for you and your family.

In addition, when booking a package holiday you will usually benefit from a range of discounts and deals provided by the tour operator, such as online discounts and free child places on family holidays – helping you to have your dream holiday at a price that you can afford.

PNR – Bicol Express Train

February 7, 2012 in blogging, travel

bicol PNR - Naga City Station

If your going to Camarines Sur,Naga City in particular, you have the option to choose to travel via land, air or by Bicol Express Train.

bicol express

Of the three, riding the train had the longest travel time but the most inexpensive.  Even if the airplane companies offers discounted fare, the insurance and other charges can sum up to more than Php. 1,000.00 ($25.00) and even up to Php. 2,000.00 ($50.00)*** if it was a peak season. By land, you can bring your own car or vehicle but you can consume at least a full tank.

The train departs at 6:30 P.M. and expected to arrive in it’s destination by 4:30 A.M. in the morning.   (Naga – Tutuban or Tutuban-Naga)

If security is your main concern on riding the Bicol Express, you don’t need to worry because  two police wearing a police t-shirt are roving and securing the safety of every one.

You have three options to choose on what you would like to sit/stay,  there were the reclining chair or what I called a bus type because it just look like you were riding on a bus.  The seats were divided by two big reclining chairs.  A wifi television will entertain you through the night until you doze in.

family sleeper

If you are travelling with your family, you can choose the family sleeper wherein you and your family can lie down during the entire journey.

There is also the executive sleeper if you are travelling alone and you wanted some privacy.  You can even choose to stay on the upper deck.  ( I wonder what it feels like to stay there)

These three options were all air conditioned and I tell you, you have to wear something that can make you warm because my body was chilling the entire trip even I was wearing a jacket and a socks. ( I told myself that I should have brought my mittens and a blanket.  I used my towel, to serve as a blanket for me)

bicol express

It’s a way new experience if this is your first time to ride the Bicol Express Train .  I felt the excitement and thrill as soon as I  heard the sound of the horn indicating that our journey will start and a big bump (noise of the rail road).

Wash room/CR

Although, it is not my first time to ride a train because I used to ride the commuter train with my grandmother going to Alabang when I was a little bit young. The memories keep rushing through my head and makes me cry a bit.  I’m a little bit nostalgic and sentimental and in the same time ecstatic because it is my first time to ride the Bicol Express Train.
