bicol PNR - Naga City Station

If your going to Camarines Sur,Naga City in particular, you have the option to choose to travel via land, air or by Bicol Express Train.

bicol express

Of the three, riding the train had the longest travel time but the most inexpensive.  Even if the airplane companies offers discounted fare, the insurance and other charges can sum up to more than Php. 1,000.00 ($25.00) and even up to Php. 2,000.00 ($50.00)*** if it was a peak season. By land, you can bring your own car or vehicle but you can consume at least a full tank.

The train departs at 6:30 P.M. and expected to arrive in it’s destination by 4:30 A.M. in the morning.   (Naga – Tutuban or Tutuban-Naga)

If security is your main concern on riding the Bicol Express, you don’t need to worry because  two police wearing a police t-shirt are roving and securing the safety of every one.

You have three options to choose on what you would like to sit/stay,  there were the reclining chair or what I called a bus type because it just look like you were riding on a bus.  The seats were divided by two big reclining chairs.  A wifi television will entertain you through the night until you doze in.

family sleeper

If you are travelling with your family, you can choose the family sleeper wherein you and your family can lie down during the entire journey.

There is also the executive sleeper if you are travelling alone and you wanted some privacy.  You can even choose to stay on the upper deck.  ( I wonder what it feels like to stay there)

These three options were all air conditioned and I tell you, you have to wear something that can make you warm because my body was chilling the entire trip even I was wearing a jacket and a socks. ( I told myself that I should have brought my mittens and a blanket.  I used my towel, to serve as a blanket for me)

It’s a way new experience if this is your first time to ride the Bicol Express Train .  I felt the excitement and thrill as soon as I  heard the sound of the horn indicating that our journey will start and a big bump (noise of the rail road).

Wash room/CR

Although, it is not my first time to ride a train because I used to ride the commuter train with my grandmother going to Alabang when I was a little bit young. The memories keep rushing through my head and makes me cry a bit.  I’m a little bit nostalgic and sentimental and in the same time ecstatic because it is my first time to ride the Bicol Express Train.

Canada- a place of many dreams

October 15, 2011 in blogging, Food & Travel Blogs, travel

It’s been six months since my M-I-L went to Canada to be with her canadian boyfriend and we have heard so much good things about Canada.  How peaceful and beautiful it was.

canada

Hubby and I decided that he would go to Canada and find work and hopefully by next year that will come into fruition. It would be a lonely journey for him and for the whole family but the benefits of having a good paying job could really help us pay our house dues and prepare for the schooling of the kids.

Although, there might be complications along the way, we know that Canada would be a great place for us and we hope in God’s will, this will come to be realized.

What better way to begin your day with a full stomach and sumptuous breakfast.  Here is my version of Fried rice with bagoong (sauteed shrimp) and egg on top, match them with tuyo and your breakfast is really something to make your day a nice one with a lovely smile in your face.

Ingredients:  (Preparation around 10  minutes)

Rice

garlic and onions (chopped)

sauteed shrimps paste  (bagoong)

oil

2 pcs eggs

Saute garlic and onion until medium brown in small quantity of oil, put rice and add sauteed shrimps paste (bagoong) , cook until done.  Fry egg in oil and put on top of the rice.  Serve with tuyo or your favorite morning viand.

I have also tried this with small bits of ham and it complement the taste.

Life makes me Levytate!

THIS IS MY OFFICIAL ENTRY TO LEVY’S CONTEST!

When i think of how my life goes by, I could not help but to cry and smile.  I live a crazy life, melo-dramatic if i may call it. I was left by my mother when i was three months old and was reared by my grand mother. I thought that life was complete with just her but things become rough when she died and i was left alone with my father who was left by his second family.

Life with him is hard. There is weeks  that my life is in hell and i thought i’m going to be crazy. i could not count the times he hit me and i just want to die that time and i have tried not just one.  I thought of jumping on a high building or even in the river near by.  I have no one to call “my friend” because i’m unreasonable, emotional and not easy to be with. I’m just a person who lives inside my own box, i’ve tried to run and i did run and i thought it was over but it was not but it just worsen my problem and i have to go back rushing because i was afraid.

When the time i was in college i met my now then husband and i saw him as my exit to my life and my father could not forgive me for doing that but giving your heart is a new thing and it takes time to heal it’s wound. I have forgiven my father and i don’t want to look back because i don’t want to feel that pain and anger again.

I thought that having a baby was very easy, just like the other teenage mother around me but my belief was wrong. I have been through two pains of dealing with miscarriage and the loss of hope for having a child but came 2007 a year of bitter sweet memories, after coping with the loss of a love one and enjoying the happiness of our dream church marriage and come again another loss of my  father, a miracle unexpectedly struck our lives and in the middle of my grief, a new joy and new beginning came up in our door. When I found out I was pregnant, it was like a roller coaster of emotions.” I took a pregnancy test and break the news to my husband.  I was very nervous than anything, afraid of losing again my baby and thinking the finances that would come along the way. As the idea grew in me, I became more excited than ever. In my excitement I bring out again all my pregnancy books from the storage and started reading it all over again. It was very fulfilling.

our peachy

To tell you honestly, i really don’t know what should i feel then, it was quite a whirlwind events and I am in the end of the line and there is no turning back.  But soon, I realized that my life is only in the beginning of a new and wonderful journey called Motherhood.  When Peachy was born, all my anxiety was eventually faded. I have felt something  I haven’t felt before, suddenly, my life had its own meaning, my heart began beating again with happiness and my lips can’t help but smile.

We have named her Prosperity Melandria, because she is our little treasure that brings us joy and happiness.  When I first held her in my arms, all the miseries, all the pain melt away. This little angel wrapped in a blanket with its smiling face and tiny hands that immediately clasped my fingers gives me the reason to believe and levitate in so much happiness.

But that happiness was once relive when my baby boy came in to my life.  I felt fulfilled, the pain and loss i have suffered through the years are all gone and i have a more forgiving heart.

Now, when i think about the things that happened to me, I can jump as high as I could ” not on the river of course” , a jump of joy because i have overcome all the circumstances and trials and I’m now happy and satisfied with my own family.  Perseverance and patience is really a great deal, master them in your life and you can achieve whatever you wanted in your life and you can definitely say LIFE MAKES ME LEVYTATE!

life makes me levitate

This is my fave drink now.  I have been drinking green tea with a touch of chamomile but not this brand.  Now, that I have found out that Liption tea has their own version.  I believe, this will be my new favorite from now on.

The taste and smell is so relaxing and give me a time to reflect on things. Let’s sit for a while and sip a cup of tea! :)

Pinoy Ice Scramble Delight

May 22, 2011 in blogging, food and beverage, review

Filipinos are really good businessman. We never run out of ideas and sometimes even a simple one can bring us thousands of pesos or can even make us in the global competition.

Ice Scramble is one of my favorite food when i was in elementary days.  I remember buying them from “manong” , the one who sells infront of our school’s compound. I do remember the time i bring it at home and my grand mother scold at me because she has reprimanded me many times on not to eat or drink street foods. But I could not help too, especially when you see those chocolate Hershey’s being put in your scramble ( i bet it was not really Hershey afterall)

peachy's waiting for her ice scramble

Now, our local scramble can be seen  at the mall now.  When I first saw it, i could not help myself not to buy.  It brings back good memories of yesterday and you bet, it was more cleaner looking now and with many flavors to choose from and you can add toppings too and what caught my eyes is it was still very affordable.

So if you happen to pass by at SM Naga City’s 2nd floor, do drop by at Pinoy’s Ice Scramble and bring back good memories of your childhood (that’s if you love ice scramble).
